Currently using the control server and one of the hosting nodes for ns1/ns2 and the dns role for enhance. I’m wondering if I should split that on to two dedicated dns VPs instead, in different data centres. Would that be the more recommended way to do things? If so what spec roughly?

I did think about having one server with all roles until we look to expand the cluster, but I guess we should build for the future first?

spec wise they " should be on different subnets "

speed wise its the same. the request to your nameservers is random.

for reliability yeah .. like if the datacenter explodes or something you have your other nameserver safe.

if you need both you will need to use an external dns provider 😌
