When accounts are deleted or permanently deleted, when do the backups get deleted from the backup server?

Currently never, but this will change with the upcoming overhaul to the backup system. You will be able to view backups of deleted sites in the UI, restore them (if the domain hasn't been added to a new website) and delete any which are no longer required.

I have backups of several deleted accounts that I don't need anymore. They're taking lots of space.
Can I manually delete the ones older than today?

By Adam's instructions:
btrfs subvolume delete /backups/{websiteid}/*

175GB now free. 🙂

PDudeP yea we really need this to be automated, we have hourly backups and 90 day retention; it’s taking up a massive amount from terminated customers. Currently over 78TB of backups, and a good 20-30% are dead clients.

It would be great if this is automated. We also have a lot of terminated clients and don't even remember their website ID's now. A simple solution will be to delete backups older than say 30 days for all websites that have been terminated/permanently deleted.

The backup system really needs some love as this along with the failed backup issue due to user space really means the feature is extremely basic and causes more than one headache.

The feature to browse/restore/delete backups of deleted websites through the UI is coming, shortly after the release of 11.0.0.

Adam Would there be an option to automate it too? So an option to remove backups X days after a website is deleted and the number of days can be configured in settings.
