As for notes, from experience building SAAS like products for a business... a simple notes field (ie textbox) quickly becomes problematic and used wrong. Ie admin/user A overwrites B's notes, end up with multiple lines with dates for the changes, who wrote what line, storing sensitive info, etc.
That said a tab/page per server that has proper journal like entries could work. Not sure the technical term but like almost like this very page where you see who posted what note and what date. But I'm not sure it would be used when teams could just use Upmind and similiar products' features for this.
