Rate limit backups

Is it possible to rate limit the speed of enhance backups? Ie I don't want to consume all the bandwidth on the "sending" server if the backup server has a faster inbound speed.

Is there a way to set backups to use a max of 500mbit/s or something of that nature?

JohnB This is not possible on Enhance at the moment. I'm going to switch this thread to a 'Feature request' so we can gauge popularity and make sure it doesn't get lost.

Thanks for your quick response. Is there an unofficial way to do this? I'm not sure if specific ports or docker container is used that could be throttled seperate from web traffic?

My concern is I have a backup server with 10gbit capacity. My hosting servers only have 1gbit. If its a large backup I assume the hosting server port will get completely saturated.

Would it be better to just rate limit the backup server inbound traffic to 500mbits for example? If so how would you recommend rate limiting docker like this?

We colocate so we might not have the same type of concern, but my experience is that Enhance backups are so efficient and incremental that unless you have a ton of new and huge websites to be backed up entirely on the first pass you won't have many (or any) problems.

Rate limiting on-demand backups could also be a feature to keep a tab, eg. max 3 backup iterations on a day
