More email features [LOGGED]

Hi.

I love that you included the DKIM feature in the roadmap! But I have a few questions/requests for emails.

The ability to go to webmail.[clientdomain].[tld] and open roundcube for each client. I don't know if this implies roundcube to be installed on each website.
Or maybe just automatically create a redirect for the subdomain to the main roudncube installation at the ecp.
It's just for the clients not to find an error when opening that subdomain which would be one of the first guesses when trying to open a webmail.
Autoconfig / autodiscover for mobile phones and email clients.
IMAP, POP and SMTP subdomains on the client's domains (with SSL) and not only on the main panel's domain.

This is possible since the appcd release. One copy of Roundcube could be installed on each email role and this would avoid the connection from the control panel server to the IMAP server, obviously at the cost of having a centralised webmail URL.
This hasn't been a priority as most email clients will correctly "guess" the details. I'll log it as a feature request.
This is coming. You can map as many "server domains" to each mail server as you want and those will have a signed SSL for POP/IMAP/SMTP. In future (if the customer's DNS allows) we will create signed SSLs for common email subdomains of the customer's website domains.

Adam When is #3 planned? Important to me for cPanel migrations which expect mail.domain to be used for secure connections, which are warning in Outlook for certificate problems (but not all, for example eM Client doesn't complain.)

Adam Unfortunately, none of my devices (mobile and desktop) automatically detect the right email config. So autodiscover would be great to prevent manual IMAP config for customers!

I don’t know if having a centralized webmail address is something other enhance customers prefer over having one per email server role. So I would say at least having the possibility of doing a redirect of webmail.customerdomain.com to the central webmail address would be enough in my case.

It'd be nice to have the choice of local roundcube instances, you do get the occasional customer doing "interesting" things with significant overheads that would benefit from local throughput and latency and I don't want to manage (install and update) lots of bespoke roundcube instances. Localised phpmyadmin on the other hand, very important.

necrom Actually we also run the CP in a different DC to our mail nodes, so while we mostly want to keep people on the centralised instance it'd be good to have "direct" (roundcube local to the mail node) access as a duplicatebackup option.

Aha, the whole mail. is related to the letsencrypt rewrite.. interesting!
Good to know, than I hope it will be released in June or any earlier :-) Currently this is the last piece that keeps me back from totally migrating to enhance!
