enhance for vps management

scenario - give a client a VPS, install it with enhance into our cluster. The client can login to our CP and then create websites on it. Is there a way to assign it just to this client, so that they get the ability to restart services and reboot? I thought there might be without creating a vps with their own CP and add their vps into it

psybox You can use the 'dedicated' package type to assign a server to a single user however, this will not give them access to 'restart'/'reboot' the server.

To provide access to the server, they will need there own cp installation. It may be worth checking out our partner prog when this goes live 🙂

psybox Do you have a method of selling the end-user a VM that is controlled by your billing/system or other control panel? If so, they could restart the VM via that method. You could setup a template for sale of Enhance enabled servers. ProxMox, XCP-ng, Virtualizor(YIKES) all have these options in various billing systems.

Currently our customers with dedicated VM in Enhance have all requested to be in our larger Enhance cluster for the sake of utilizing our Enhance backup/email servers. This is in part due to our business model, and that most are full-managed dedicated hosting VM(s). No issues, and a lot easier to manage than our many plesk customers...

But, once the option to provide separate Enhance licenses is available, this will be good for providing the VM(s) and letting those that want it to fully manage Enhance from a single-server or to scale out as needed. All our systems need to do is to provide the Enhance license and basic VM's to them. We are seeing an uptick in smaller town-ships purchasing this type of product.

8Dweb hi, yes we do, but I have decided that we won’t do this. I don’t mind utilising someone else’s api to provision vm, where they have been audited and hold the relevant ISO accreditations, hence having the ability to provide enhance vms in our own cluster is great.

By giving clients their own license, this then means we have to provision them a control panel for separate login, different backups to check, mail server, MySQL etc. when in reality, the ability to reboot might be sufficient for many if it’s in our cluster?

Anyone that’s wants fully tinker access will not get a VM in our cluster.

psybox I think a graceful reboot button for dedicated packages would be great. Since they're the only user on the server, it would make sense they get access to that option, and it expands Enhance use cases. It's a good idea!

wouldn't they be able to restart the container of the website if it as some problems or config changes.

its a nice idea but i am thinking why would they need to restart the server ? what are the use-cases ?

mike in the same way you give vps clients a cp to restart? Except this way you don’t need to build out a new cluster specifically for a client to reboot.
