Getting Cron Email Spam

A client is getting these emails from the server, guessing every time the cron is fired off. Is there a way to stop these?

twest wp-cli cron has a —quiet parameter too for that.

.. without the quotes ... to the end of the cron command. Still, I didn't think these were emails that got sent out.

Yeah I'm not sure why they're getting sent out either. I recently turned on email role on this client's account so their site can send phpmail for their contact form, and I guess the cron info gets sent out as part of normal reporting. I see the emails in their dead.letter file too.

But yeah the updated cron should do the trick 🙂

You will soon be able to specify a specific email for cron messages to be delivered to or disable them entirely.

I confirm I have this same problem. E-mails are spamming me for my own websites and clients. I get Mailer DAEMON delivery errors from my provider since the e-mails cannot be delivered correctly to the provided address.

Thanks @MediaServe for the --quiet tip. I'll test it out now.

cristianuibar We have the same problem.

@Adam has suggested via a support ticket adding MAILTO="" to the /etc/crontab file but so far this hasn't worked (unless it needs a restart as well)

Adding --quiet to all the WP CLI cron jobs seems to have fixed the email problem for me.

But it needs to be manually added to every single website.

Also, by default this CRON from Enhance runs once every hour. Well, I believe it should run every minute and I reconfigured them to run every minute.

Question now for @Adam ,

How can I change this default behaviour for all new WordPress installs? I want to make the CRON run every minute and have --quiet added to the command. Where can I change this default please?

I had the same problem... The client was receiving dozens of spam emails. I hope this will be fixed.
