Backups for dedicated packages [RELEASED]

Just today I noticed that a dedicated plan doesn't appear to have a way to create backups unless the role is installed on the same server. It is possible to assign backups for each website on a dedicated plan to our primary backup server, but the dedicated plan server doesn't have that option so until a new website has a backup role assigned manually they're SOL.

This needs to change somehow, because we have an Enhance backup server for all data with about 4 times the storage needed for all cPanel and Enhance servers and a backup role on the same server doesn't make any sense.

Maybe I've missed something?

When provisioning a dedicated subscription, you can leave the backup role unset and the website will use your shared backup server. You shouldn't have to do anything manually. The only reason this wouldn't happen is if placement were disabled on the backup server or it had been dedicated to another customer.

You definitely don't need a backup server for every VPS.

Well that sound good! However my experience with the cPanel importer itself hasn't been assigning the backup role even with a shared plan when I run the importer impersonating the customer. The cPanel migration packages have the backup server included.

I have a dedicated cPanel import to do for a client, and I'll do a concurrent shared cPanel migration too and open a ticket about the results.
