The main purpose of exposing the SOA feature in the UI was to allow changing of the other values for registries which required them to be within specific boundaries.

You're right the system should not enforce the nameserver being within the same zone and it should default to the first nameserver belonging to the master organisation or reseller. This is coming in the 11.0.0 update.

There have been some efficiency improvements as well as a fix for errors being logged on orchd startup when the various services have not yet booted. More improvements are are coming in 11.0.0.

Update went absolutely without any problems.

There's a little limitation regarding the SOA record.
It seems not possible to set the nameserver name as ns1.hostingcompany.com but it's limited to ns1.customerdomain.com

It would be also nice to have a way to massively update SOA records...

Would it be possible to modify/provide that ?

Updated and checked the option to change the Soa record..... This is not how it should be and is no additionele but more an option to crack your DNS

Normaly a Soa record should hold the name of the master Nameserver. That is not possible with this option. When change the soa record it adds the domain name of that zone. So this is the same as having placeholder in place

Like others have pointed out, if you can't set the master dns to the ns1.whateverdns.com it isn't of much use... I think it would also be handy to set the default settings for the soa record platform wide, now you have to edit every domain manually...

Agree, this is a problem. We utilize a set of servers, so need to be able to set all SOA records appropriately. It would be nice to be able to select domains to which a particular SOA could be set.

Did anyone notice the average load on their servers go down after this update? I had skipped 10.5, went from 10.4 to 10.6 and the first half hour of monitoring had load on all servers go down 1-2 points, pretty substantial. Interested to see if it keeps up!

Rich I've noticed that Appcd isn't updated as part of the estate update. So you'll need to manually update Appcd 2.4.0 -> 2.4.2, per server, if you haven't already. (There is a security fix in 2.4.2)

The core update only updates appcd if it's below the minimum version.

I think this can only be coincidence. The only service which received an update is dnscd which is mostly passive and shouldn't be responsible for any server load.

@Adam the packages dropdown filter in websites list still show all the same package name without the friendly name which makes it useless if u have like 5 packages basic.

What should show in the dropdown instead

We will improve this, thanks for pointing it out. The dropdown when adding a website does show the friendly name, it seems we just missed it on the filter.

Adam It would be nice to also see it in the customer's profile from the admin area, at:

/customers/{customerId}/packages

If you have a customer with multiple packages, they get lost.

tstrand You'll need to enable it for each package one by one. Would have been great to have an option to enable it across all packages.

There are no issues so far, but I am after the May 2024 roadmap badly. I hope there are no changes to date, like postponement! UFW GUI is what I need it badly 🙂
