The laws got passed in the name of "big coorperations are spying on their users." The old guys foolishly thought they could write laws that would stop that. It just hurts small businesses that just want to know if the same person who ordered a week ago has returned.

Its shameful that people who couldn't even login to their accounts on a new phone get to dictate how tech works. My fav question from US senator to Mark Zuckerberg:

"If I'm emailing within WhatsApp ... does that inform your advertisers?"

Sorry but if you're at their level and can't grasp the difference between whatsapp/messenger and email: you're an idiot.

JohnB You've raised some valid points about the disconnect between policymakers and technology. It's frustrating when regulations meant to target big corporations end up hurting small businesses instead. There's definitely a need for more informed discussions and decisions in this space.

It’s absurd that people in Germany are afraid to even ask for someone’s name or age due to these strict rules. It’s like they’ve made us all paranoid for no reason. And it’s hypocritical when the government preaches about Datenschutz (data protection) while selling our data themselves.
