Minimum Server Requirement for Roles

We are testing enhance.com and like it compared to cpanel so far 😉

enhance.com seems to make it easy for us to split differnt roles on different servers, so we think about the following setup

1x Management Server (Behind CF)
1x Webserver and Database (incl. Bitninja and Litespeed)
1x E-Mailserver (incl. Bitninja and Litespeed)
3x DNS Server

First of all, is there anything we should be aware of when splitting it up?

Secondly, what are the recommended minimum requirements for those server. We will start with around 150 websites.

I saw the general requirements but guess they are for the management server: https://enhance.com/docs/getting-started/installation-guide.html#hardware-requirements

And a security related question: I don't think theres a need for bitninja if it is secured by firewall and ddos protection on network level, what do you think about it?

elk DNS servers don't need to be beefy. Min requirements is fine.

No one can give you any useful advice on exact webserver/db server specs or even general specs because we don't know the traffic of the sites, the plans you offer, CPU type etc.

Management server behind cloudflare has issues at this time and not needed.

elk I don't think you need Bitninja and Litespeed for the email server. The customers Roundcube instances run over an Apache container installed on the email server itself. I don't know if you can change that.

I'm running like 30 WP websites in a minimum specs machine, and it's very tight, specially with the RAM.

I've never had any issues but these are low trafic websites. That's something you need to consider as JohnB said.

thanks for your answers.

we do not have any issues using cloudflare for control panel but I added bypasses for all cluster servers, else it propably would have problems. the control panel is not accessed by our clients, so we can limit web access to our ip's.

and yes, ofc litespeed is not needed on email server, that was from copying. however we added bitninja. bitninja offers outbound spam filtering, so we decided to use it for that purpose.

i will post an update about specs and experience after some time
