Anyone concerned about the latest updates?

It seems like the last few updates even before the recent major core changes, have broken things. And small bugs reported months ago still exist.

Behind schedule on the roadmap all without much communication.

I know in other panels every other other update breaks something and introduces bugs. Its unacceptable but people tolerate it because there wasn't anything better. Enhance's selling point is that its better than this.

Is anyone else concerned by these latest updates and if so what would ease that concern?

To me it seems like development is being rushed to try to meat roadmap deadlines. Perhaps time should be pulled from new features and instead address any "tech debt" the panel has first.

Personally, we need (needed) control panel replication asap. v11 was a little rocky, but it appears to have stabilised now. 24.04 support was almost on schedule.. so maybe it was just v11 that took a lot of dev focus.

I'm willing to wait before I get too concerned (about some of the smaller bugs), but considering I have been concerned since control panel replication was promised last year.. it's all relative to me.

In my opinion, they should prioritize fixing existing bugs before developing new features. This is the standard approach in software updates: first, resolve current issues, then add new functionality. Introducing new features without addressing existing bugs can lead to even more problems. I don't understand why they don't follow this process, as bug fixes shouldn't be too time-consuming.

Its a good approach but unfortunately its not standard in my experience. It should be but clients/customers/bosses want to see flashy "progress" not real progress that amounts to hours and hours of refactoring and no visual change asside from fewer bugs.

I'm guessing their funding is from a few large companies and those companies want to see "progress" Same concept as shareholders only caring about quarterly "growth" even if it ruins the company.

Not concerning to me, with the caveat of not having all relevant info off course. The knowledge is there to fix anything, but perhaps the distribution of this knowledge to sufficient manpower was lacking.

I can imagine a timeline like this:

Enhance needs income to be able to support a good team of developers
Largest odds of quick revenue is mass migrations from other panels
Several setbacks in implementing mass migrations due to tech debt -> delays
Emergent requirement to redesign under the hood to be able to implement required changes -> big delays
Personnel issues due to workload being too high -> loss of productivity
New staff to fill holes -> slow pace of recovery due to onboarding and getting up to speed
Release most of major update due to community discontent, with unfortunate bugs -> time eaten from development

But, hopefully it'll lead to the next timeline:

New staff integrated, productivity boost
Redesign led to reduced complexity and quicker and cleaner delivery
Several long standing issues can now be stamped out quickly
Focus on strategic milestones and roadmap by people that were too busy putting out fires in the last 6 months

Again, purely hypothetical. But, in this case, the sun could have just come out yesterday.

rdbf I can see this being the case. We don't know because they don't communicate though. Considering the average paying customers of Enhance are developers, admins and not tech illiterate people, I would think it would be useful to give details.

Transparency increases trust and patience.

It seems that the Enhance team is doing what they can, recently even releasing an update - a fix on Saturday. I'm also eagerly awaiting the possibility of replicating the panel, which is very important to me. I think now that version 11.0.0 has been released and they are now releasing version 12.0.0, everything will go smoothly and they will take care of everything else. Serious bugs should be resolved as soon as possible. I agree that we customers should receive more information on various topics, related to Enhance's development.
