@DracoBlue I can see some benefit, and actually welcome this, as long as we don't necessarily expect our votes to be quickly realized in the real-world product.
However, as is the case with the email re-write, often things that are desired, even by majority, are technically subjugated for the purpose of re-writing/changing code-base and functionality so that the product can actually move forward, rather then just be a hodgepodge of add-ons bolted on as they come up.
Also, software that is written by full democratization will ebb and flow at the whim of what we may want, rather than function based on a clear set of underlying rules established by the devs and their original or evolving marketing plan.
I see that any software will always have some shortcoming in relationship to my own business.
A good review of desired features shows that there are some core items that we would like addressed. For the most part, the roadmap is outlining those items (aside from UI visible logs, my pet peeve - lol).
I am actually quite impressed at the changes to both the roadmap and how quickly some items are being addressed.
I can now begin to see how the desire for sogo or other groupware option had to be subjugated to a full underlying rewrite. What is even more impressive is that for the most part that large re-write was rolled out without utter destruction of in-place systems. Yes, there were issues, but they were assessed and addressed (and are still being) fairly quickly.
So, long winded way of saying, sure, do the poll, but do not expect the winning items to be immediately implemented.
