Read it it's really interesting.
I would suggest something like this to be implemented and for enhance control panel.

Have you dealt with something like that using enhance and what was your solution?

This isn’t going to be possible with Enhance. You’ll need to read up on load balancing, clustering etc to understand how something like this is done.

xyzulu Maybe not initially... but this is all possible in software, so later down the line it is entirely possible.

xyzulu with my limited knowledge I would think since we have already the possibility to add hundreds servers.. wouldn't a load balancing be possible between those servers through enhance? 😐

If your site was static, that could be done extremely easily.

If your site was entirely database driven, that could still be done relatively easily.

If your site was file and database driven, that is harder.

Adding a load balancer with another standing by, with an IP that fails over is simple. It's the rest that would need working through.

It wouldn't be quick as Enhance is in the early days, whilst I would expect the offering to expand over time to do some fairly technical things, I would not expect that for a few years, at least.

Their load balancing and high availability is probably a cluster connected directly in the same datacenter (ie no latency). The database isn't 5 mysql servers trying to stay in sync across WAN (what enhance would be). Files are not being synced to 5 servers across WAN. This becomes a big problem when a site is under a heavy load.

Anyone whos tried to setup Proxmox HA or something similiar across a WAN even in the same region will know how bad the performance can get with just a little latency.

You can make enhance "scale" to traffic by using or setting up a VM that autoscales to use more host machine/machines resources. Google and AWS offers this. Its simple and just works because its not over WAN.

Via the Enhance API you would increase the site limits. Maybe enhance could add that...an option to allow ballooning resource limits. That would tie in with resource usage monitoring that they are adding.

Real HA that spans across multiple regions is site and situation specific unless its just a simple static site and wordpress probably isn't the best choice at all.

Depends how you define that, I dont think anyone assumes it would be over a WAN nor it "would be", after all, you can run 5 MySQL servers in the same dc, same switch and LAN.

Along with the upcoming feature to run inter-cluster traffic via private interfaces, which I am sure there will be just as many people doing this on the same LAN as via VPN/Wireguard/etc.

All baby steps to making that a possibility... adding Ceph management to Enhance years down the road to do this, HAproxy/keepalived and so on. Completely plausible and realistic.
