Hi everyone, I know that many people here use storj.io for backups storage. I decided to give it a try on one of our small clusters. Our backups on the current backup server are in total 380GB. For just 2 days the storage on storj.io that is used is more than 7TB. This is creazy and not normal. Nothing of the backups configuration has been changed.
Does anyone have an idea what may be causing it? Or I should just disable it and go back to storage server.
vsmbg s3 backups always create full backups, not incremental ones like in block storage. Current s3 backups are very inefficient.
AdamM Thank you! Then will move back to storage server.
S3 Backups on Enhance is a half-implementation. it does not support Incremental.
Having said that, your case seems like a bug.
380GB of data, backed up 2 days, should be roughly or even less than 760GB, not close to 7TB.
josedieguez Assuming that copies are made every 24 hours and not, for example, every 1 hour.
Maybe it seems like a bug, yes. We perform backups every 24 hours with a time between backups 22 hours and a maximum 24 hours. It continued to grow and I had to delete it as we will have to pay a big fee at the end of the month. Before I deleted it, I saw that in the bucket its real backups maybe for some reason Enhance was making more backups than set. On a Backup role server this is not happaning.
