I get the following on my first Plesk migration - a very basic site backup.
Analyzing step failed with: cannot_perform_operation: unable to analyse backup, it may be corrupt or invalid

I can open the .tar file with 7zip and it tests OK, there is also no password on it.
Any idea what to try next?

Check folder permissions and ownership ( if you used root to upload things, etc).

I created a customer and then impersonated them, proceeded to import from there.
I can see the import files in
/var/local/enhance/orchd/importer/plesk/
Ownership doesnt seem to relate to any system user.

On newer Plesk versions the backup format changed a bit - it will sound weird, but before creating a backup on Plesk, add a cronjob (even a dummy one) and try again. this will add missing data on the Plesk XML and allow it to be imported on Enahnce.

Bingo! Thats the work around.
It also fails if you have no home directory in the archive (email/DNS only accounts)
