Installation of Flarum

Hello, Has anyone successfully installed Flarum using Enhance?

Do you have some recommendations for newbies (like me)?
I chose Flarum over Discourse because it's using PHP and my idea was to deploy it using Enhance.

Flarum can be installed with Composer (https://getcomposer.org) which is already present in the PHP container - just SSH or su to the website user and go from there.

Hello Everyone, Installing Flarum in root directory is different from the default install. I've struggled a little, and here's a solution if you want Flarum to run as your root domain.

install flarum inside your public_html
now install flarum accessing your site URL htts://yourdomain.com/public
If you don't completely install Flarum first you won't find the config.php file required to modify the site path to root domain
move all files one level up
delete public_html
rename public to public_html

Don't forget to:

Change site.php file, this line:

FROM: 'public' => DIR.'/public'
TO 'public' => DIR.'/public_html'

And, of course, in config.php point to root domain

I've just realized Enhance Forum uses Flarum. I initially thought it was Discourse ;-)
You're always one step ahead haha

I really prefer Flarum if you want a minimalistic forum.

It's light, simple, and really easy to deploy using Enhance.
Flarum forum configuration takes 3 minutes, whereas Discourse takes 30 minutes.

Flarum uses PHP and Javascript, while Discourse uses Ruby on Rails and Ember.js.

Adrien Yer, we're running Flarum and it's been a positive experience so far. I would recommend installing akismet!

I forgot to mention one thing at the beginning of my installation tutorial of Flarum in the root directory.
run:
composer create-project flarum/flarum ./public_html

instead of the default
composer create-project flarum/flarum .

I hope this will help other newbies like myself.
