Spinning wheel after panel upgrade to 12.0.0

Hi All,

If you have a spinning wheel on one of you custom panel domains after the 12.0.0 upgrade, please open /etc/hosts on your control panel server and add a line:

127.0.0.1 orchd filerd

This should have been added automatically by the upgrade tool but sometimes it would exit early due to a missing global DNS template and the output would not be written. We're releasing 12.0.4 in the next hour to address this. In the meantime the above fix will work.

Also if you have /etc/hosts managed by cloud-init, add the entry to the template:

/etc/cloud/templates/hosts.debian.tmpl

Then it should survive reboots.

This doesn't seem to be working for me. I can only load the Control Panel by adding the :2087 port, and I already have a record in hosts that matches this.

Digitidal you need a line break in hosts before 127 so that part is on its own line, fixed my issue.

like your ip hostname then new line "127.0.0.1 orchd filerd" on its own line,
i went from
555.5.5.5 sitename 127.0.0.1 orchd filerd to
555.5.5.5 sitename
127.0.0.1 orchd filerd
If that helps
with 555.5.5.5 being your server ip.
