System Generated Emails - documentation doesn't match

I am in the process of migrating to Enhance and looking to set up system emails.
When I review this documentation, it says:

To configure System generated emails:

Open Settings in the left sidebar
Select Platform
Navigate to System emails
Select Edit and input your details
Click Save to finish

However, I don't see anything about system emails in the platform settings.

Was there a change in v12?

I had the same problem, your CP domain must have the “email” role set.
Then you need to create some email and add it to brand settings as sending notifications.

fizzpopmedia apparently now Enhance uses the MTA on the server where the panel is hosted. So I guess you should enable the email role on that server and just disable placement on it.

There's no new documentation about that but Adam mentioned at some point. I can't find that post.

It was in the upgrade documentation.
I don't think you need the mail role but you should configure the HELO name, reverse DNS and SPF etc.

Adam told us to use

appcd-cli install-mta

On the CP server (which had no mail role).

Hmm, I have mail role on the CP but missing the System -> Platform -> System Emails
