cPFence some sites get stuck in the "work in progress" (wip) backup state

is it with btrfs on v12? or overall behavior, even with ext4?

We tested it on ext4 only. @Adam will hopefully fix it next week.

Backups working much better now.

Looks like a change of behavior how it backs up certain websites, having a big issue with an older ProPhoto Wordpress site where it filled up a 500GB hard disk in just a few hours backing up the following cache directory.

Same here. And it’s not random, the two sites that fail with each backup are always the same. I couldn’t find a pattern yet. As a temporary fix, I’m deleting these stuck wip snapshots to prevent them from eating up space:

find /backups -type d -name "wip*" -exec rm -rf {} +

In our case I see these sometimes but then the next backup works ok. ie the backup sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Hopefully easy to resolve (and monitor once the backup logs return) by Adam 😉

Vendoz It's not that simple..

Stop appcd
Take a copy of the /backups/* top level folders (website id) and ownership
Unmount/format ext4 etc the disk, remount /backups
Restore the top level folders to /backups and reset permissions
Restart appcd

You can either rsync back your data, to just let only new backups flow. We chose the latter.
