You still don’t seem to understand why many admins need to cap backups within a specific daily timeframe.
Let me give you a real-world example: at cPFence, we handle large database imports/exports, large-scale data synchronization, and batch processing just to keep our software updates running for clients. Now, are you suggesting we can run these tasks while backups are in progress?! Of course not. If we did, our scripts would fail miserably, and our clients wouldn’t get the hourly updates they rely on.
And that’s just one example, there are hundreds of other scenarios where admins need backups to run at predictable times to avoid conflicts with critical processes.
Now, am I saying this is a must for everyone? Absolutely not. But for some, it’s essential, which is why we shared a simple guide on how to tweak Enhance settings to achieve this. What’s your problem with that?
It’s just a settings tweak, not some complex workaround or major system modification, as you’re exaggerating it to be. If random backups work for you, great, but that doesn’t mean they must work for everyone.
As for your comment about us being "commercially tied" to Enhance, well, of course. Anyone running all their hosting servers on Enhance is commercially tied to it. That’s how we run our business, just like you do.
Yes, we genuinely want Enhance to succeed -perhaps more than most- because it helps our new, still not profitable business. But we believe Enhance CP deserves to succeed because it's the best fit for many people now, which is why we chose it initially. This is also why we actively contribute to this community and develop great software with many unique features that attract more users to the platform and our software.
