Kosta Currently when you create a new email address and the website contains some aliases, the domains are sorted alphabetically. So, by default you will create the email address ending at the first listed domain instead of the primary domain which is most often the desired choice.

Well, I appreciate the effort enhance has on this product, but maybe it would be nice to focus on features that end users use on daily basis before focusing on features that me as a hosting provider use. I would prefer my customer to be comfortable at the expense of a little more work on me rather than making me comfortable then I end up loosing a client because of a feature.

That said, things like:

Change email password via roundcube
Calendar on roundcube
Add other app installers and support other apps like Node and Python
Proxy on website migration to a different server
Be able to backup the control panel
A cPanel like UI

For me, this are very critical. Having a feature like support for other OS distribution etc, I don't see how it is going to help me win a client, when what clients use on daily basis in not there. This being a new panel, it is a bit difficult to convince cPanel diehard clients that this panel is the best, when after onboarding them someone asks how they can change the email password and they can only do it via control panel, which is a difficult task for organizations with many email users. No calendar etc. If something went wrong today and my ECP server is nuked, it will be a disaster for me and my clients as well since everything revolves around the ECP.

My thoughts are, at least do a release for what our client use daily, then the rest can follow. That is in addition to fixing existing bugs.

wenani 100% this, clients are lowkey better off selfhosting (just so many options outside of WordPress) and grabbing one of the foss panels, good thing they don't know about them lol. Would really like to see some fediverse hosting support, don't expect it to be niche for long and would like to sell hosting services for stuff like peertube through enhance, or mastodon instances, etc.

That's the basics.

It's unbelievable that they prioritize "The ability to download a file backup from a website and import it into another cluster" while the end customer doesn't even have the ability to change their own webmail password.

#Please complete all backups related features on the roadmap while working now with backups so never to go back and keep getting complaints!

#then focus on AXFR
Proxy on migration
IPv6 only
Internal network manager

#then focus on email features and nodejs features

#Then focus more on security features to make it easier and more convenient for end users such as pci DSS, ftp secure connections

#then do all the work for app installers and custom freamworks for other apps such as antivirus apps

And so on, the way currently going on the roadmap we never gonna have completely featured abilities into the platform and Enhance team keep going backwards to do more to things that needs to be completed long time ago…

Please finish all related features on backups side before proceeding to other things so never to go back and wait for complaints/ feature requests.

Kosta My problem is that the Cpanel like UI was suppose to be READY and tested like 3 months ago as they told us :/
And suddenly it didn't make it to release 😃

i have mentioned bugs that are not even listed on the road map and i have no idea if they are forgotten or being worked on and i don't know how many features or fixes have been advertised as coming shortly from 2023!

I think the existing bugs and most delayed or requested features should be the priority,
Lots of everyday items that are really needed are neglected, Work on all the new features once these are fixed, No point adding new features only a handful of people will use.

Just my 2 cents.

I’m supervisor and project manager:
I can do 50m long ventilation system in couple weeks if I don’t have all materials on site..
And I can do the work in couple days if I have all required materials on site prior to starting engineering works…

Enhance team keeps going backwards to do little bits in different systems…
Complete fully one system then move to other! It will minimise cost and time with 50-70%

gmakhs as I mentioned/used my experience in project management…
Enhance team doesn’t seems to know anything of that the way I seen it.
They can simply complete very quickly much more features related to backups, while their developers heads are into backups system than coming back year or 2 later into same system… same as networks features etc.. I can see things from 2023 not done yet …

gmakhs If you're looking for software with an interface similar to cPanel, you might consider webuzo.
On the other hand, it's great that the Enhance staff doesn't censor discussions about other software that competes with theirs.

Everyone has their priorities, it makes no sense to say "this is important to me, that isn't important to me". There are services that are not worth 1 minute of their time for me, but if they do them they are probably indispensable for others. That said, there are some generic/critical features (or simply QoL) that should be a priority because everyone would benefit from them (example: backup download/manager, cp backup, proxy on migration, and so on).

Enhance should have/dictate the priorities (based on the community and their data) and we will have to adapt to their proposals. It is a free market and no doctor sent us here, so if we are here it's because we are happy, and Enhance must work to "convince" us to stay here. Their roadmap hooked me a year ago and I hope there will be more transparency on the direction of development, because now this it is actually too little.

xyzulu the old roadmap and seeing the updates was why i came here, i like feeling like im seeing activel development and can participate in it, now its like the corporate walls up, gotta get my fix elsewhere lol

It would have been enough to provide time frames instead of a specific month, and the issue would have been settled, but now nobody knows what, when, or where... For me, changing the map is a big downside.

Prioritising features is a difficult balancing act for us. Downloadable backups is a feature and somewhat of a bug fix due to the huge volume of support tickets which could easily be resolved by the user if this feature existed.

I'm excited to see the development continue and even be accelerated. How are you handling that Enhance Team? It sounds like you have some amount of devs working on new features, and others working on bug fixes. From reading this thread it sounds like some things get addressed while other things sit. Obviously the v12/Ubuntu package manager change was huge, and I was waiting for that and a good amount of bug fixes before I tried the panel. There's still some challenges with using it for us, and I'm not sure how we'll get over them. When we create sites, enhance drops a bunch of unneeded/invalid DNS entries into the site. Then, if I sync those to Cloudflare the email will stop working (because we're not using email in Enhance.). Prioritizing some of those quality of life issues (or the simple password change issue that already has a POC on Github) might make a huge difference.

I think you should triple the fee you charge (which is still less than xPanel) and hire a few more devs, buy CPFence outright and merge those devs in as well to have a super secure and cohesive panel.

I don't purport to know anything about development, but I can daydream about it, lol.

lcs Cpanel is charging per account, enhance charged per website they are already more expensive, specially the way the UI is built in...

i personally believe even if they increased the price they wouldnt be able to afford the extra man power.

Developer salary they advertise is around 80000 a year to pay for of them they need 133k websites using enhance, idon't think they are close to this number , and i amnot even adding other business costs etc

I have to disagree.

Additional sites within the account are not counted.

Just use the same methodology as Cpanel when selling the service.

Treat the main site as an account. Lock it to 1 main site and leave unlimited additional domains.

You will have a lower cost than Cpanel. There is no way to compare the price of Cpanel with Enhance. It is dishonest.

You can isolate 1 client on 1 server if you want, you will only pay the cost of 1 domain.

If you are going to put 1 client on just 1 Cpanel server, you will have to pay a fortune just for the Cpanel license, not counting third party software like jetbackup, etc.

franco using this methology, backups aren't working properly and are super confusing for the user .
It's Impossible to have different php versions since php per folder or at least by domain is not implemented in enhance .

And many other issues that end up confusing the client .

It might be a temporary fix for some people but the UI was never ment to be used like that and it's only allowed by enhance to allow compatibility with other panels (Adams worda not mine )
So enhance is cheaper only when multi servers are used, for low count of clients by even so it lacks features.

gmakhs none of that changes the fact @franco is right. Enhance is orders of magnitude cheaper than cpanel.

Cpanel costs more per account/website AND also costs per server. If you need reliable backups, then you have to add on Jetbackup. If you need to have resource restrictions per account then you have to buy Cloudlinux.

Switching our cpanel servers to Enhance drops our per server licensing costs by -90%.

It's not even close to being comparable on cost.

On unrelated note, it's insane the amount of entitlement in this thread.

I'm using this exact methodology, following the Cpanel model, but applying it to Enhance.

For some clients that need to dedicate a PHP version, I adjust the number of sites, but the demand is very small, less than 5%. Regarding backups, what problem are you facing?

I'm currently running a few servers in the Cluster using this methodology. So far, I've had no problems generating backups. It has some bugs, like not retaining passwords, but the integrity of the files from what I've tested is ok.

What's driving me crazy right now is that the end user doesn't have the option to change their own password in webmail.

I have a client that has over 40 email accounts. It's impossible to give each person access to the Enhance dashboard to change their password hahaha.

There is a third-party module that enables this, but I'm reluctant to install it because there are several servers and I don't want to have to go through the hassle of undoing everything again when Enhance releases the official feature.

How DARE enhance build everything from the ground up with original thought and design but not have all of [insert shit panel] features. Whoa whoa you expect me to go into terminal from time to time??? Unacceptable, I am suing Enhance for emotional damages!!!

Here is a list of things that MUST be completed next or I will be mad and complain but won't go anywhere. Actually I'll just create 5 feature request threads.

The idea of voting on what they do next on roadmap is a bad idea btw. I swear if my customers got to vote on what part of the backend I do first I'd just quit.
