gmakhs Enhance not even can't compete, but also they haven't worked on quality of life issues for years,
Can’t compete? So you think all of us here, those who left the big-name panels behind, are just blindly trusting a platform that “can’t compete”?
While we manage many clusters for our clients, our hosting business only owns 2 licenses (clusters) with Enhance: one with only 70 domains and the other with my partner, who prefers to stay anonymous, with about 600 domains. So no, we’re not a massive host with beefy 500-800 loaded servers as yours, but we’ve been in this field for decades. Our team includes seasoned sysadmins and developers, including folks who previously worked at large hosting companies. And from our experience, Enhance not only can compete, it’s currently the best choice among the newer control panels.
Regard the features you mentioned, most of them are already built in Enhance and working like a charm like user isolation, resource limits, caged SSH, multiple PHP version..etc. And for ease of management, I would say other panels can't even compete with Enhance.
The only reason Enhance may not “save money” for some is due to lack of proper server management. If your setup is managed by someone experienced, Enhance can cut a tremendous amount of cost. The panel is lean, efficient, and well-designed for modern hosting companies.
For those of you guys complaining about backups, just wait until you use the built-in backup system of cPanel! You will be paying a fortune for your servers and left in the dark with no backup system, and you will end up using 3rd-party tools like JetBackups. Backup system is one of the big pros of Enhance from v11 and even with v12 (with only some minor 1/2 bugs left that need to be ironed out). Some people criticize v12 incremental backups (we are not using S3 backups), but we've found that 9 times out of 10, issues are caused by ignoring best practices.
Does Enhance have cons? Yes, definitely:
1- Sometimes bug fixing is painfully slow for no clear reason, especially when you see how fast they fix critical security or v12-related bugs in just hours, while other (often simpler) bugs can sit for months!!!.
2- Communication on the forums is quite limited. That said, most big-name panels are just as bad or worse, with forums that are completely dead, so it’s not a huge issue for us.
3- There’s still a lack of proper logs and detailed stats.
4- The priority of new features is often influenced by their larger paying clients, who may not always share the same needs or priorities as the rest of us.
But each time we asked ourselves about these cons, is it worth it to switch to another panel? And the answer is always no.
What we hope to see Enhance do in the next months is:
1- Fix the bugs, this should be top priority, specially the simple bugs that makes the team look ignorent while it can be fixed in no time.
2- Start adding new well tested features frequently, even a couple of new features each month would be good for us.
Just our 2 cents.
