Backups run outside the Allowed backup hours since v12

My backups are running outside the allowed backup hours i've set. Is this a known problem? On v11 this didn't happen.

Martijndort I had and issue where the backups were running twice a day when the settings were set to 24 hours. I had to re-save the setting to fix this. I don't know if it applies to the enabled hours though.

no it doesn't, i informed adam and he's aware of this bug and currently they are investigating this..

mendozal we have the same problem; i tried to re save settings multiple times yet with no effect. also we see a high cpu load during backups since v12.

bluelinq-computers but they where testing the new version for only 3 months before is made public 🤣🤣🤣

I agree that Enhance needs to improve their bug-fixing strategy, but for us, the new backup system has been working well. Backup space usage is efficient, and both backup and restore functions are working as expected. The allowed backup hours not being respected is definitely frustrating, but I wouldn’t call it a critical issue. Hopefully, they’ll get that fixed soon.

cPFence Hmm. My backups are still taking up quite a bit of space for only a few dozen websites. I'm still using XFS, any ideas?

I also have issues with backup, in my case S3. Backups are performed at different times despite the set schedule. Additionally, I have it configured for 3 days of backups, but I have 6 days, so something is not working as it should.

I'm curious, aside from efficient incremental backups, what made S3 the better choice for you over Enhance's built-in system?

DracoBlue This is happening also with normal enhance backups as well.. if 24 hrs interval set, backups are happening at 12 hrs of intervals.. in result of this twice as restore points are getting created.. i hope this will get fixed soon!

DracoBlue I fear something like this is happening with my S3 backups as well. Also, I'm not sure if this is only affecting me, but the loading times for displaying the list of backups and S3 backups is VERY slow since v12.

cPFence Mainly the price, my backups weigh only 40GB, and I like to have in separate locations.

If you've already opened a ticket with Enhance and that didn’t help, try this: take any of your app servers, add the backup role to it, move one or two websites over, and run a couple of manual backups. If everything runs smoothly and backups remain incremental (which they should), then it’s probably best to ditch the old backup server, reformat it, and set it up fresh with EXT4. That should take care of the space usage issues.

bluelinq-computers This happens because the copies are read from the S3 backup. If you delete the backup folder, they will also disappear from the Enhance panel. Previously, this was not the case, and the copies remained visible in the Enhance panel even after being deleted from the S3 backup. So you could say that there is synchronization.
