Has anyone been given directions by Adam on how to update Apache/Nginx? OLS/LS update via apt just fine, but not so with apache/nginx.
Offical way to update apache/nginx
V12:
Always I had problems with updating ols and lse most of the time had to delete folder to be able to update as was showing wrong version etc…
Apache no idea
Nginx no idea myself how to update. I have currently February version latest I believe.
Features coming about this I think
Ability to view versions of apt/deb packages installed on the system and to selectively update packages.
I am planing to switch from lse to nginx for my whmcs any advice on this by the way?
Thanks

Avoid using the built-in OLS upgrade script with Enhance. Even the official docs clearly state:
"To avoid complications, always upgrade or downgrade using the same method you used to install OpenLiteSpeed originally."
https://docs.openlitespeed.org/installation/upgrade/
Stick to the apt upgrade process to keep everything smooth.
cPFence I wonder if the same goes for lite speed enterprise
Nope, with LSE you can upgrade directly from the admin console as soon as a new version is available, it’s usually pushed there about a week after release. Or, you can upgrade right away using the lsup command.
If a OLS new version is released, will OLS update when we do apt update & apt upgrade or for OLS we must use other specific command?
I have a definitive answer:
OLS/LS and Apache from apt
Nginx is released by Enhance
xyzulu yeah this is strange when I do chose Nginx I get straight away latest version like you said managed by enhance but when I do LSE I get version 6.0 witch is 2014 year release etc why don’t manage all web servers from their repos updated to latest versions?
By the way since v12 apt-get upgrade openlitespeed or LSE doesn’t work.
I need aways to go with lsup after I delete rm -rf /usr/local/lsws/autoupdate/*
