Hello enhance team,
Most domains receive email messages for invalid or nonexistent email addresses on the domain. It will be great the system to forwards them to the default address. The system must uses the default email account as the default address per account. I recommend this feature that you set up a default address for each domain because you ensure that every account receive all of the emails.

Hi George,

When the mail system was designed we didn't include this feature due to the amount of spam it might attract.

We can consider this as a feature request. If any other customers would also like this functionality (*@domain.com to go a nominated user within the domain) please "like" the original post.

Adam I am actually not in favor of this. In all the years we have hosted, catch-alls have never provided a single good thing. If this becomes an option, please allow it to be turned off system-wide for all hosted domains.

It will do nothing but increase storage requirements, and cause the mail servers to strain under the pressure of the transactions and disk activity.

From experience I definitely appreciate catch-all email NOT being a default (combined with auto-responders it just adds to the volume of spam being received and sent), but I can see some niche cases where it would be nice as a server or package selectable option.

I Support necrom totally, we have seen this in our directadmin installs a lot of times, a Catch-all attracts so many spam messages being a default solution is not workable. we stayed away from it, disabling it for many years now.

A configurable solution like necrom suggests could work, i prefer to stay away from it.

I actually do use catch-all mail addresses for some things, and we have clients who also use them a lot, so I think that it would be nice to have the option, but, yes, it should be a selectable option.

Given our rather large cPanel user base and the amount of customers who do use this, any move to Enhance will be tough, potentially having to either keep some cPanel or exit some customers.

It should really be up to the user however if they want to use catch-all. Some have a need for this.

Personally I use for [website]@domain.com so I can signup to sites with a unique email and if one of those gets spammed, can easily be blocked.

It does lead the conversation to plus addressing slightly and auto creation of folders (i.e Gmail / cPanel) but that is not workable for some (but both would be nice).

@Adam this is a fairly old post with not much since May. Is this being considered, or worked on as it is already a blocker in moving people from competing panels which do support it (and is actively in use).

Don't worry there will be a platform setting so you can decide whether or not to offer this feature.

As much as I hate catchall accounts we are being asked by a couple clients 🤦‍♂️

I assume this didn't make it into v11 so is it coming in v12?
