How to make changes to the OpenLiteSpeed configuration

Recently, a Moodle installation that I had set up on a virtual server with 24GB of RAM crashed for 10 minutes when it received a little over 50 users, even though the Enhance dashboard indicated that memory usage had not exceeded 35% (although the load monitor was approaching 10).

A few days ago, I made several changes to the my.cnf file of MariaDB, so now I am thinking of making changes to the web server configuration and php.ini, which is why I would like to know how to do it.

There's plenty of discussions here on OLS config not being persistent. It might be years away before persistent config is implemented. The Enhance defaults should be good for anything up to quite beefy servers though.

It's sort of doable when you write scripts yourself that constantly check and update the config, but there will be occasional glitches on reloads, and there's reports of microdowntime (503's) even with just plain OLS on Enhance. Your server should be able to handle orders of magnitude more than 50 users to be honest, so it might be worth looking into Nginx (possibly with persistent modifications via scripts) to ensure you get the solid performance that this server should be able to deliver.
