Editing cron for users from shell

I've just spent hours trying to figure out why my crons weren't working, only to discover that:

su - username; crontab -e

and

crontab -u username -e

are not the same thing. Am I an idiot and missing something obvious? It doesn't feel insane to think that editing the cron as the shell user would actually edit the cron...

That’s normal and expected. In Enhance, each website runs in an isolated container/namespace, so SSH sessions, PHP, and cron are fully isolated.
