I have about 35 WordPress sites on my Enhance cluster. All sites are small, low traffic, & not very complex. It will probably grow over time, but not hugely.
Currently I'm running this on three VPS:
- 2 x Application, Database, DNS, Mail
- 1 x Backup, DNS
This seems to work reasonably well, but I'm wondering if I'm making my life harder than it needs to be.
I could easily put everything on a single VPS and save some money.
But I've also seen some recommendations that it's best to have the primary cluster node on a server that doesn't have any websites so it's easier to restore if something goes wrong.
Any advice on what the best structure is?
