Share one Backup Server

Hi,
i have one Backup Server and want to share it with multiple dedi websites. Once i add the backup server to one dedi website the backup server gets the dedi flag. Is it possible to share one backup server for my dedi customers?

Just do not assign the backup server to that DEDI, and let “default”. Doing this, every DEDI user the same backup server 🙂

Correct answer. If you want to convert the existing server back to shared, downgrade the customer temporarily to a shared package then back to dedicated, without selecting the backup server.

Ok but if i don't assign a backup server to my dedi customer the backup tab for manual backups disappears.

I think you've still got your one backup server dedicated to another customer - if it shows a customer name at the top of the server management page, downgrade that customer to a shared package to detach it. This will fix it for all new websites. Then use the "move server" tool to assign any websites provisioned since the server was dedicated to your backup server since they won't have a backup server attached.

Also check your packages have backup enabled.

In that case it's not currently dedicated however any websites which were provisioned while it was dedicated will not have a backup server assigned. You can use the "move server" tool to attach them retrospectively to the backup server.
