New site, FTP account created, connecting by IP to the server as DNS is still propagating.
When trying to connect, I get:
530 Login authentication failed
I double-checked the username and server IP, then reset the FTP password and copied/pasted the new password, but I still get the same authentication error.
After several attempts, my IP was banned:
421 Temporarily banned for too many failed login attempts
I added my IP to the Enhance whitelist, but this does not appear to remove an existing ban.
TCP21, TCP30000-31000 are opened.
Two questions:
Why would the FTP credentials for a newly created account not work when connecting directly to the server IP?
How can I manually unban an IP that has already been blocked?
