I'm having no problems sending to any of the big email providers through mail.baby, set up spf correctly and you should be good.

I am trying to use MXRoute but not able to configure it properly. Does anyone know which username and password I have to use? Also, what other steps should I be validating?

I added the Email Role, added smtp.mydomain.com in DNS to point towards my server. Also established PTR record to smtp.mydomain.com. I have added the email role to the website. Then maintained the smart host settings.

Apologies for asking novice questions. I have always used Reseller Hosting with cPanel and am just trying to learn to use Cloud Servers with Enhance Panel.

You forgot to set up spf records.

Oldschool Thanks for the reply. I already have the SPF record since I was using MXRoute earlier as well with the other hosting with cPanel. Do I need to change that?

Just an update: I was using Hetzner Cloud and they block the 465 port by default. I changed the port to 587 in my configurations and everything started working.

avvitech Just FYI after the first month (and paid invoice) they will remove that restriction if you request it. I just did that and it asks for the reason. I typed out why because I thought a human would decide yes or no but no... The moment I clicked send it also said the restriction was removed. They probably read the reason if they notice abuse.

Linode is the same way but a human actually reviews it.

Specifically they mentioned this:

Note: The server connecting IP should be added to the spf record. Directadmin and cPanel servers default spf include the main ip of the server. While email delivery when using mailbaby will not use this IP, mailbaby servers will look at the SPF record to ensure the connecting server is authorized to send email for the specific domain. If sending only over the API then you only need include:relay.mailbaby.net in SPF.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to expose the server IP in the SPF record. I wonder if it works if the server IP isn't added in the SPF. 🤔

WebInfra I'm not 100% sure of this, but adding IP in the SPF can surely improve the rate of successful delivery.
