Adam appcd 2.2.1 which also releases in the next few days will default PHP error logs to the home directory. It also sends the php-fpm error log there, although this might be of limited value.

It's of limited value if you don't set catch_workers_output to yes, the default is no.

Adam I can't see configurable web server access log retention on the road map - was this removed when you changed the format?

Please, this needs putting back on the road map and implementing as a priority.

Whenever a website comes under load and we get an email from the client asking why their website was returning 503 errors all we can do at the moment is shrug our shoulders as we have no logs

This is what was said more than 18 months ago:

The configurable web server access log retention is a little more complex but it will be made available ASAP, we understand this is a priority for many customers.

So I made it work myself with Nginx, didn't feel like waiting anymore. Now all websites get persistent logging in their ~/logs/webserver.log file, with weekly logrotate.

So I wasn't blind/stupid when I was pulling my hair wondering where I can find apache error (500) logs for a specific website I had test-migrated.. haha.

So the error logs, as they are, are discarded very quick? Is the below documentation the latest?

Yes, logs rotate every 5 minutes. You can use a simple systemd service to copy them elsewhere if you need to keep them.

That’s exactly what we built into cPFence LogSpot, but you can easily set up your own if you prefer.

@Adam when is this feature going to be added?
Website access logs are critical for debugging. This seems like a foundational feature.
