Easy email migration UI

I found this feature very useful in one of the panel that I use. You can migrate the emails from other server to this. I think they are using imapsync in backend. Not sure though. So on the destination server, you need to specify the email details, like email id, password, IMAP Server and destination detail like email id. It seamlessly, transfers all the email. Probably with imapsync, DA has that feature, and is has worked very well on our daily usage for new clients. it's indeed very useful feature.

tecreasey It would be nice to have an email migration tool per mailbox. I mean to put your IMAP/SMTP credentials and to start the migration.

I use imapsync on the command line now. But that's not very user friendly.

george Is there a selfhosted version of that tool? Using this public free service has huge security implications. Even if they are trustworthy all it takes is malware on their server to grab the login info.

It would be cool if there was a docker image that is just imapsync with a nice webui around it.

We utilize the paid version of Lamiral's imapsync in our company for many years. It works very well, you just need to stay updated with various authentication issues with larger providers, which may require customer intervention.

Imapsync - If you want to use the graphical tool, just run:

docker run --publish 80:8080 gilleslamiral/imapsync /servimapsync

Or to make it easier, setup dockge and nginx proxy manager and you can put this on your own servers via https.

Have a look at this one. This is amazing for migrating IMAP accounts.

You change MX to the new server.
When users tries to log on, then a new user and mailbox is created on the new server, and a sync task is setup to sync from the old server with the credentials provided by the users request.
The only thing you need to setup is the the IP of the old server paired with the domain.

I’ve been using MailJerry (a Windows application) for email migrations. It’s a paid tool, but it has been excellent — very reliable and efficient, even for accounts with large volumes of messages.

While an integrated migration UI in Enhance would be great for convenience and automation, MailJerry has consistently delivered solid results for us in the meantime.

Definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a stable solution today.

I had my own installation of imapsync i was using but then i stumbled upon this one:

Works on everything.. (Gmail + Exchange Servers too)
Works on a cron so you can leave the page and it will continue!

I see a lot of love for imapsync here, and while it is definitely the engine behind most successful migrations, managing it via command line or setting up Docker containers can be a hassle when you have deadlines.

If you are looking for a dedicated UI solution that runs locally (avoiding the security risks of public web-based tools), I highly recommend the SysTools Email Migration Tool. As Seen on Google Search.

I used it recently for a cPanel migration similar to what tecreasey was asking about, and it handled the bulk workload much better than the single-mailbox tools.

Why it might be the "Easy UI" solution you are looking for:

True Bulk Mode: Instead of doing one by one, you just map all users via a CSV file.

Concurrency Control: Unlike a standard script that might choke your bandwidth, this tool has a Concurrent Slider that lets you migrate 5-10 accounts simultaneously to speed things up.

Delta Sync: This is the killer feature. You can run the migration while the old server is live. On cutover day, you just hit "Delta Migration," and it skips all the old stuff and only brings over the new emails that arrived during the transition.
