Domains on different servers

Is it possible to have domains / subdomains under the same website / account on different servers? If not, would it be possible to add this functionality?

Use case:
domain.com is a wordpress website so should be on the server optimized for wordpress
storage.domain.com is just used for backing up files so should be on server with large storage
app.domain.com is an application that only works under apache, so should be on a server with apache set as the web server

Websites under the same account can definitely be placed on different servers. Subdomains can be configured as separate websites as they can with other panels. If they are your websites you would do this by using the "advanced" dropdown during website creation and selecting the appropriate server. If they are customer websites you would need to set the customer up with multiple subscriptions to plans which provision to specific server groups like "apache group", "wordpress group", etc.

It's not possible for aliases/addon domains/subdomains configured under the "domains" tab within a single website to be on different servers since these all run within the same application container.

I think you need add the subdomain as a new website, so you can move that to other server.
