Install NPM and app in docker

Is there a way to install the NPM package manager?

And to install an application running in docker? I want to install Novu, but it only works in docker. https://novu.co/

npm will be available in the customer SSH environment when we release official node.js support.

You can run docker containers manually but there is no support in Enhance for proxying to them or monitoring them in any way. This might be a feature in the future, there have been a few similar feature requests.

Adam Will there ever foreseeably be this feature in the future:

Ability to use docker files FROM an enhance docker image and it would make certain things automatically connnect to the front end. Would automatically connect file explorer etc, restart, backup, restore, names, versioning etc?

I realize this would require a lot of work but it would make enhance EXTREMELY customizable. Is this something being considered or will Enhance always be a kinda closed garden type panel without official plugin/extension support?

I can see both sides. Closed garden ensures a good image and avoids bad plugins runing the reputation like wordpress being viewed as insecure because of so many bad plugins.

Aliysa_Enhance It is a shame that node.js has been pushed back. I could really do with it now.

An application I am deploying needs node.js to install/build some of the assets, and without this, the site is not functional.

It is a shame the original December date has now been pushed back to April.

We have a feature request open for the ability to run custom docker containers on a per-website basis.

The way we envisage this working is that the container would run "rootless" as the website user's uid with the website user's home directory mounted (so file manager and backups would still work). The website would then proxy a given path like /api to the docker container on its internal IP. All you (or the end user) would need to do is specify the docker image and any environment variables.

@Adam Just a thought from someone not so technically minded. If the Docker solution is implemented then could a container with node.js just be installed, which would prevent development on just node.js? Or would this affect some node.js functionality?
