Getting server error 413 error in WP

Hey guys

Is anyone getting errors in WP server error 413 error

I have gotten it 3 times now. I have never see this error before on cPanel or DA.

The first time I got it was my own site, so I wiped the account as it was a test site.
The 2nd time was a clients site, and I can not remember what I did exactly to fix it.

Now Im getting it a 3rd time on another clients site.

I have been googling it and getting suggestions to add/increase post_max_size and upload_max_filesize, but not luck so far.

So in this case, I can not edit a default install of a start site using Elementor. I can edit other pages, just not the main page.

Try increase php max_input_time and max_execution_time, try 300, might just need more time saving if the page is really huge.

Hi Andreas,

I have some questions:

Which web server are you using?
Is the website behind CloudFlare, quic.cloud or similar?
If you open the browser's network tab, you should see the 413 error. If you click it, there should be a response body. What does that response body contain?

I think I have seen this before if max_input_vars is too low - try setting this to at least 10000 in your PHP configuration.

Another thing to try is to test with mod_security temporarily disabled.

I have done the following below and still getting the error

max_execution_time 300
post_max_size 1G
upload_max_filesize 1G
max_input_vars 10000

yes I see it there. admin-ajax.php Status shows 413 and the line is in read Statud Code: 413 Payload Too Large

This could be mod_security related. If you run "docker logs apache" it should hopefully show the rule which is being hit.

Try disabling mod_security on this domain. Does that resolve it?

If not, please send a support ticket. I'll post the solution here once we find it.

Adam OK this is interesting. I checked the mod security logs @opsshield (oppshield/cPGuard) and there is was nothing in there. So I assumed it was not that.

After you mentions to disable it, I tried it to anyway to test, and it worked. I can now save.

OK found the issue with the help from @opsshield
I had to increase the SecRequestBodyNoFilesLimit 131072
