Enhance apparently doesn't yet have any Apache customization other than tweaking vhost includes, and the documentation indicates that disturbing httpd.conf will be overwritten.

Simple things like including index.htm as a DirectoryIndex and others are missing. With a panel as robust as Enhance should be we need to have good cPanel/Plesk/other migrations, not websites that have to be tweaked endlessly for every simple need.

The DirectoryIndex is rather weak IMO:

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php

The best way to change directory indexes persistently would be with .htaccess, there's no need to use a vhost include.

If you want to change it globally, as a workaround, I think you could probably add it to the mod security configuration (via the UI) as this is included into the Apache config before the virtualhosts are loaded.

Adam Right, but the problem is that our cPanel accounts use various DirectoryIndex directives. In a mass full server migration we cannot attend to every single thing that is non-standard. We cannot fix this with .htaccess directives easily! Enhance needs to be more more flexible or configurable (both are best)!

Here's the cPanel default DirectoryIndex:

DirectoryIndex index.html.var index.htm index.html index.shtml index.xhtml index.wml index.perl index.pl index.plx index.ppl index.cgi index.jsp index.js index.jp index.php4 index.php3 index.php index.phtml default.htm default.html home.htm index.php5 Default.html Default.htm home.html

This covers pretty much all possibilities!

You can do this globally by adding the directory indexes to the mod security config editor under the application role settings for the server. It's a hack but it will work and it will persist. If you're not using mod security just remove the rest of the config in that section.

We'll try to come up with a better solution for the future.
