"Which" website and emails may go offline?

We are looking at rolling out the latest round of updates and had a query around what services actually go offline during an update.

Reason I ask is that when we look at running the 9.9.1 to 9.10.0 update, we get the following warning popup:

Update Enhance?
This will update Enhance from version 9.9.1 to 9.10.0.

• Yours and your customers' control panel will be briefly inaccessible (₁ minute)
• Some websites and emails may go offline
• No data will be lost

We recommend that you read version 9.10.0 release notes before proceeding with this update.

Are you sure you want to update Enhance to version 9.10.0?

The control panel system going offline for ₁ minute is never really a problem but a customers website going offline would require us to run this and maybe all updates out of hours.

I have checked the release notes and nothing in there says the websites will be affected where as some previous release notes have said that so is it fair to assume this update does not affect any of the running websites on other servers?

Or can we assume that if it's a Core update websites should be fine and only an Appcd update may affect them briefly?

Core updates often require service updates which may result in containers (mail, web, database, etc) being restarted, causing a short period of downtime - usually seconds but this can depend on the speed of your system. This isn't every update but we put the warning in the UI so that you can choose to do it out of hours if you prefer to.
