Clientexec Integration

I saw that in their most recent update, Clientexec had introduced an integration for Enhance 😀
I just so happen to have a licence for Clientexec that came free with a VPS from Racknerd. I decided to give it a go. I set it up easily on an Enhance server. Here are the steps that I used in case anyone has a similar licence.

Create a plain (non-wordpress) site. Set PHP to 8.1. Enable ioncube loader in developer settings.
Download zip files from Clientexec site for the Clientexec application
Upload to public html with Enhance's file upload
Extract Files with Enhance's tool
Move files from 'clientexec' folder to 'public_html'. I used Enhance's copy/paste function!

I am currently in the process of setting up Enhance and I was wondering if anyone had managed to configure Clientexec yet? My main questions are:

Is the setup on a server-by-server basis or do you set up just the main control panel?
I am presuming that it is the former, in which case, can one use the same API token to set up multiple hosting servers i.e. EU/UK?

I love the fact that you can up/downgrade Enhance plans from within but haven't gotten that far yet.

Okay, I worked it out and thought that I would share here!
The instructions for integrating Enhance into Clientexec can be found at:

It is done on a server-by-server basis but a single API key will suffice.

After adding the custom fields Org Id and Sub Id
Add Server:

Then in the fields:
Server Name - The name of your choosing to help you identify among your cluster
Hostname - the hostname of the main Enhance Panel
Shared IP - The IP of the hosting server (not necessarily the same as the control panel)
Plugin - Enhance
Max no of accounts - you decide

Then in plugin options add your OrgID and API key generated from the Enhance panel.
Add the Custom Fields you created prior to setting up the server.

Done.

meditatingsurgeon I thought you were using Upmind, did you stop? How do you like the ClientExec system? Have you used something like WHMCS/Blesta to compare how complicated or how many options are available? I've never tested ClientExec, I think because it didn't look polished enough for production use, but I'd be interested to hear your review 🙂

Hi, a complicated story also involving Hostbill! (I got that as a Black Friday deal a couple of years back). Due to work, I haven't had the opportunity to get things going as fast as I would have liked.

However, since starting with Enhance, I have got everything going that I would like and I am saving a lot of money on 1 Plesk and 1 CPanel licence, so I thought I would try out the Upmind free plan. Upmind works so well with Enhance that I upgraded to the paid plan and will likely use that as my main billing platform (with the possibility to upgrade further to multibrand).

I just wanted to have a play!

With setting up a custom app - Clientexec on Enhance - straightforward.
Integrating Enhance with the free but also unused Clientexec licence.

I asked Hostbill if they would also swap my Proxmox module for the Enhance module and they kindly did.
Hostbill was really easy to integrate.

I did try out WHMCS a while back but too expensive for my needs. Never tried Blesta.
Upmind and Hostbill have been the easiest to integrate.
Hostbill is quite powerful and has loads of functionality that I may never use however with regards to the integration with Enhance (i.e. create, suspend, terminate, up/downgrade accounts), I think it's very similar but haven't looked closely.
I agree that the Clientexec interface looks pretty awful but it was a free licence and integration with Enhance 😍

meditatingsurgeon For me the main issue with the Blesta/Enhance integration is the lack of first party support for Enhance, it's available as a third-party module.

They have excellent pricing though. I hope they decide to integrate directly at some point.

Please continue sharing your findings about the Clientexec integration.

Of note - I see that Racknerd are again offering a free Clientexec licence with their new Black Friday VPS plans from as little as $19/year!

The integration works well, I just tried on my own but unfortunately it lacks some stuff.
The "Welcome Email" is not complete and does not include for example WordPress credentials in case you created a package with WP pre-installed, neither it creates an FTP account.

I had a talk with their team and they could integrate it for a small fee as a custom development.
If any of you is interested we might the split the fee (really minimal) and get this done; eventually PM me.

I had them create a custom plugin not to create any hosting accounts. It just creates the account on the enhance server, then user can log in and add/remove domains when ever they want.
