S3 incremental backups

Currently, backups for S3 are done in full each time and this requires large data storage on S3 which translates into costs. Despite everything that S3 is cheap, I think it can be optimized.
S3 is a very good solution for backups, which can be in addition to btrfs block volume backups.
It primarily increases the resilience to failures and data loss.

Is it also possible to implement incremental backups to S3?
I remember that Plesk used this so it is rather possible.

AdamM When asking this, have you done the math considering the scenario you are requesting, a cost analysis? If so, would you mind sharing it?

Be wary of S3 incremental backups. The storage is cheap, but you pay for queries. A JetBackup incremental backup on one of my servers costs $150/day in queries. So of course I don't use that, it's insanely expensive.

@twest S3 is a protocol. not all object storage providers based on s3 charge per request/query.

I believe thats what AdamM is looking for.

I am no expert on S3, but if the wholesaler (Amazon) is selling the service and charge, per request/query, no reseller will sell the same service without considering the respective cost in their price.

backblaze, wasabi does not charge for queries (As far as i know)

backblaze you can download 3 times your storage without any fee, and wasabi 1 times your storage per month.

I don't know how S3 incremental backups can be done.. easily.. without some "hacks"..
