Failed to install 'Database' role

Hi,

I have a local vm running to test the panel, but when I try to install the database role I get a notification saying 'Failed to add Database role to server01'.

Trying to install MariaDB 10

Looking at the ajax request (webdev tools F12) the server responds with an error 500 saying "An unknown error occurred, please try again later".

Or is it not possible to install mariadb on the panel server?

I ran into this on a fresh install when I added a server on the latest version last night.

I selected OLS and Maria db. Immediately it gave the same error regarding DB but kept installing the web server.

A few minutes later it finished installing but it installed Apache web server.

When APPCD version came up (couple minutes later, before that it was just a spinning circle) I was able to install the database without issue and the correct webserver.

Nickske00 You should try installing it again and it may work.

@Adam In my case there is no loopback issue at all and no ports are blocked between control panel and the new server

Hi. Is your server behind NAT? If so, make sure "hairpin NAT" or "loopback NAT" is enabled. The server needs to be able to reach its own public IP on port 50000.

Yeah, other services installed just fine. But it is working now. 🙂

Nickske00 I've noticed that if you "rush" the panel you get issues like this sometimes. I'm guessing maybe their testing strategy doesn't simulate someone who clicks fast and immediately after install is finished. And/or on a smaller VPS some post install tasks don't finish in time but if tested on a beafy system its not an issue.

JohnB Yeah, we need to learn to be patient.. 😉 But once it's working, it works good!

Nickske00 Haha I was going more for Enhance needs to test like an impatient user running on a cheap VPS lol. But yeah if you're patient or impatient but try again later it seems to run fine so not a pressing issue.
