The Docker version information

It seems to me that it would be a good solution if there was information in the enhance panel about the currently installed Docker version on the server.

Simple to implement.. but you're kind of requesting a "let me know if my server packages need updating" indicator.
What will people request next? Kernel version? Version of other apt packages?

I'm sure we all are logged into our servers all the time for other operations (apt updates, monitoring, auditing etc). Checking docker version while doing that is trivial, and you should be checking more than just docker.

What would showing you the docker version solve? (you said: ".. it would be a good solution..")

xyzulu yeah I think this will probably already be covered in the updates management portal that will eventually be getting built out. I think Adam said "end of the year" for this.

That way, you don't have to go into the console and check the version 🙂 Convenience.

xyzulu No, I'm not a hosting provider. I have one dedicated server for my own use. I moved from Plesk panel where I had such information plus SSH terminal in the panel.

DracoBlue I wouldn't be comparing Enhance with Plesk, if you want all those features then you should stay with Plesk. The best thing about Enhance is that it isn't full of unnecessary clutter like Plesk is. There is absolutely no benefit to server admins being able to see the docker version in the UI.

Blurring the lines between SysAdmin and User leads to a far more complicated UI. Simplicity is far better with a solid underlying technology.

It took our customers ages to get used to Plesk when we moved from cPanel, now that we've migrated to Enhance all our customers have said how happy they are with the simplicity of the UI.
