Some customers websites are bandwidth or compute resource intensive. They may be development websites or they don't get much traffic so they don't care to optimise.
Our enhance cluster is deployed across multiple DC so we end up paying for the bandwidth twice.
Some customers may be moving their websites between hosts who are charging them bandwidth overages.
As per the bug/dev log the frequency of screenshots is not 1 hour or what is set in branding, it is 10 minutes.
The screenshot tool appears to use external DNS and fetch websites from external customers.
As a result this is a low value but high cost feature.
I would personally like to see options to:
1) Admin to disable the feature entirely globally.
2) Admin to choose if feature is enabled to customer websites by default or disabled by default requiring manual action.
3) Admin to permit or deny the user ability to update screenshots on-demand.
4) Excluding the cost of screenshots from any future user bandwidth calculations.
