I'd really like to see adding immutable backup options to the backup solutions in the enhance hosting stack.
It seems easy enough with S3 - use S3 Object Lock setting. Maybe something to add to a future release?
Do you mean that you would like the backups never to be deleted, even if they're over the max retention threshold?

Yes! Cannot be deleted, or changed for X period of time.
