S3 Object Storage for Customers

Is there any plans to allow our customers to enable their own S3 Object Storage integration?

That way the backups can be taken and stored directly in their own S3 accounts.

You (as a hosting company) are responsible for the backups of your servers, not your customers.

kess Not everyone has the same business model as yourself.

It shouldn't be a problem to make this available as an option for those who wants to offer this feature.

When a customer messes up their settings and loses critical files because of it they will blame the host not themselves. Some hosts are very honest about no backups but if you check their reviews people clearly feel differently and that probably costs them more money in lost business than just doing backups.

I always try to keep in mind... Customers are idiots.

I was thinking of more to use customers S3 storage for let’s say a folder in website that contains video files to reduce website space and bandwidth for media sites… something like that…

you can this for customers with dedicated and virtual servers, but you setup this manually.
enabling this for shared hosting customers would not be recommended, backups are I/O intensive could easy abuse resources.
