Hi, I saw that with the new Appcd v2.5.0 update released on April 17, 2024 you have implemented the possibility of using the APCu extension / module for PHP and I thank you very much for this.

I wanted to ask you how to enable APCu extension / module for PHP in Enhance Control Panel.

Hi, xyzulu and DracoBlue, yes, before writing this post I had already tried the solutions proposed by you too.

I just received the response from Enhance Control Panel support:

"From 10.7.0 core release (ETA Monday) you will be able to enable this in the UI. In the meantime you can add:

extension=apcu.so

In the website's php.ini."

Hey guys @FabioP @xyzulu @DracoBlue , speaking of APCu, I'm not familiar with this. If we enable APCu, do we still need the Zend Opcache? I know the APCu could work together with Redis, but does it make sense to use them both at the same time, for WordPress? Litespeed Cache plugin still doesn't support APCu right now, right?

I have a specific necessity relating to the use of APCU on WordPress as I use its use on my websites developed with WordPress in relation to a free and specific plugin for WordPress which is called Transposh [https://transposh.org/] and that for me it is the best and which is used to automatically translate into all the languages you want your website using different free engines for translation (Google etc., etc.) as this plugin for WordPress Transposh uses to improve performance or APCu or Memcached, I can also confirm that I use OpenLiteSpeed web server (free version) with the WordPress LiteSpeed Cache plugin and I have never had any problems as APCu is used only and only by the WordPress Transposh plugin.

Yes Redis is generally much better than APCu but it all depends on the specific use case, in fact I use Redis through LiteSpeed Cache for the entire website and APCu, however, I use it only through the specific plugin for translations called Transposh and both Redis and APCu, in this specific WorPress configuration, work together on my websites and without creating any conflicts and without ever overlapping.

slimx I'm curious about why you think Redis and NGINX might be the issue. Could you elaborate on the specific problems you've encountered? Also, if you managed to find a solution, I'd love to hear about it!

slimx We've couple of clients using NGINX + Redis with woocommerce, working just fine, you might need to see what's going on at your customer's end!
