Running multiple webservers not managed by enhance.com that use openlightspeed as the server software, i clearly miss a way to finetune openlightspeed server configurations. (similar options might also help for apache or nginx based servers)

Examples:
a) enabling/disabling TLS server version (imho. TLS 1.1 can be turned off without any issue)
b) fine tuning used TLS ciphers (a very limited set of ciphers is realy needed
c) adding context blocks on either server or vhost level to set custom headers

I could manualy add the needed lines easy to the webserver container, but that will not persist over reboots or updates.

Can it be possible to either allow server config options or persistent server configs, to get this very nice software into a more usable direction?

regards
Jürgen

I think the whole purpose of openlitespeed is that it's a free product and that it doesn't allow for persistent configs.
If someone finds a way to make openlitespeed have persistent configs most likely it will render the LITESPEED-ENT obsolete as it's already very high priced.

OLS does allow for persistent configurations..

xyzulu I think he was thking of how htaccess changes require a webserver restart.

xyzulu To be careful to your words, OLS does, of course support it but enhance does not and will wipe and rebuild the config based on enhances internal metrics on reboot and especially updates.

Many of us are eagerly awaiting enhance persistence for custom changes.

Hi jwaibel, DracoBlue, slimx, xyzulu, JohnB, Rich and adil,

If you, like me and like many other users, need the OpenLiteSpeed (OLS) configuration to be persistent, for a long time now (January 10, 2024, about 4 months ago) I opened a feature request to ensure that the Enhance Control Panel team can try to implement this solution, if you also want to join this request which is already highly voted (but the more the merrier) you can like the first post and add a post as a reply with the words "+ 1 for me".

Below I leave you the reference post for this feature request relating to the persistence of the OpenLiteSpeed (OLS) configuration:

            - 1 - Persistent OLS (OpenLiteSpeed) configuration;
            Vote this request here: FabioP

Hoping to have been helpful, I wish you a good day and good work.
