xyzulu I received information from the Enhance team that the update was supposed to be this week, but for reasons unknown to me, it did not appear. So, I assume it will be next week since Adam confirmed it was supposed to be this week.

It's a little puzzling why someone from Enhance doesn't just provide us some information in a situation like this. It puts to rest so much anxiety and concern.

In any case, v11 isn't my big focus.. control panel replication is.. 😉

Yes, I agree; I hope Adam or one of his teams can update us on the news if it needs to be postponed due to issues, which will look professional rather than keeping it silent and not posting for an update?. @Adam, it would be great if you could update us shortly. Thank you.

Sorry for the delay with the 11.0.0 release. Because it's such a huge update, we have to make sure it's perfect before it goes out. This includes the update ability from all existing versions of Enhance - some customers are still running 9.x releases.

We try to keep to the planned release dates but they are only estimates.

Zoinkies I appreciate what they are doing but I guess I dont understand instead of making an update support jumping 6 verions why not just make it so when version x checks for updates the response only includes 1 or 2 versions ahead. If they are far behind and want to caught up, they update...then check for updates...update...repeat until caught up.

Thought there might be an update on the release date but unfortunately there is none, 24th June 2024 update was also missed (depending on the timezone). But at least they are making sure it is tested.

Theoretically, if version 11.0.0 is released in the coming days, version 12.0.0 will be released in two months.

Simple post under the release topic or message on the roadmap like: We know you are waiting for this release but it is taking a bit longer to finish.

Puts minds at ease especially if you just migrated from another panel due to similar issues.

A whole lot of impatient people here. It will happen, posting asking for updates the moment it ticks past the estimated date on the release page serves zero purpose.

Correct , I also think it would be better to set the release date on the roadmap by month rather than a specific date. Sticking to a specific deadline for software release is never guaranteed. Sometimes things don't go as planned. The worst part when clients put pressure on you, the dev team may rush, leading to the release of software that is not completely ready.

XN-Matt it's actually very simple.

if i tell you i'll have an update for anything on the 3rd of the next month, you are going to ask on the 4th, where is the update. simple as that.

it's just that, i don't see anyone complaining, even a lot of recommendations like, modifying, postponing, new estimated date, change of specific dates to months instead for the next updates, etc.

We've been testing and evaluating Enhance for about a year. While updates don't always happen on schedule they are frequent and well supported.

What you are seeing from the community reflects that experience.

As a consultant web and app developer if I think I will finish something in a month I tell the client 1.5-2 months because stuff happens. Especially if they are actively waiting on me to finish because a day late will lead to justified complaining.

Clients quickly learn that its likely you will finish things early but they won't complain if it takes until the date you gave. And the rare times you are actually late you get way more patience because of a history of being early / on time.

Amateurs & companies with more sales budget than dev budget will overpromise because they don't know better or they know one of their support/sales rep will calm down the angry customers when its late. Doesn't promote trust.... Especially when delays are not communicated.

JohnB yeah it's a bad look for sure. I'd prefer they just switch to a quarterly roadmap, then they got 3 months to take care of business and ppl can't complain lol

This update is a sensitive one as it includes features some businesses have been waiting for over 1 year.
The email was implemented in the most minimalistic way in Enhance, and some implemented features were there but not working,

Asking is not a problem as long as you are happy with the answer you received. Blaming and complaining is a different story 🙂

I do believe Adam and his team really work hard to deliver on this.

Like the email, which was implemented in a minimalistic form, updates from one version to another are probably due for review. As I remember, JhonB suggested a jump from version 9 to 11 should happen incrementally, 9, 10, 11, 12, etc., not on version 11. You have to prepare jumps from version 9.

Again, we all learn and adapt, and I am sure Adam and his team do the same 🙂

Re-engineered email platform.
All email responsibility is now handled by appcd rather than the 3 separate mtacd, imapcd and spamcd containers for greater speed, reliability and configurability.
All mailboxes now belong to the website user. Hard disk quotas configured at a website level will apply to the emails when the application role and email role are placed on the same server.
Your email data will be automatically migrated to the new structure during the update to this version.
One server will be migrated at a time. Email services will continue to function whilst the update is pending.
Please check your backups before applying this update.
If you experience any unexpected issues, please raise a support ticket.
Website generated emails are now sent from the local MTA rather than being forwarded to the assigned email server for the website. This does not require the email role to be installed on the web server. If you have a global smart host configured, this will be applied automatically to all web servers where the email role is not installed.

Outbound spam scanning, will reject spam messages at SMTP time.
