MariaDB 11 installed instead of MariaDB 10 LTS

I just installed enhance for a few days and I just realized that MariaDB 11 was installed instead of 10.

You are right, 11.4 is now the latest LTS is release so this is the version that will be installed when LTS is selected. The problem is that the UI is hard coded to show version 10 when the LTS release is selected because, until recently, version 10 was the latest LTS release of MariaDB.

Now that 11.4 is LTS, this is the correct version to use. We will update the UI in the next patch release.

My new qn is.. an in place upgrade of mariaDB (10.x to 11.4).. how will Enhance cope with that?

That feature will be available in the UI shortly, in the meantime it's a manual process.

For this reason, I wanted to kindly ask you if you have an ETA for this important and convenient feature.

As always, thank you in advance for your precious support and congratulations again for the continuous updates that you are rapidly releasing for the Enhance Control Panel which in my opinion is already the best Control Panel available today and which I am sure will continue to improve more and more with unique, high-performance and increasingly innovative features and all at a super affordable price, thank you.

There is no database updater or web server. When will these be available? Because this information is not on the roadmap.

Likewise what's the best upgrade path from MySQL -> MariaDB? Using a 3rd server to hop, skip jump?

Rich Just finished this to upgrade MariaDB from 10.11

Move all DB's to another server (I had test sites / email as well on that server so I moved them as well)
Delete the hostname from websites (comes up with a notice it can not completed if you do not)
Remove DB role from the server you want to upgrade or replace
Install new DB role with MariaDB 11 / MySQL on that server
Add hostname again under the server, you will need to issue SSL certificates again and check ip's are correct
Copy DB's back to the server with the new MariaDB install

Using Cloudflare so the DNS records auto update when moving services/sites around (unless you have manually set an IP)

Not sure if this is the ideal way but it works.

ecknz Thanks I'll have to try this with a couple of servers and some test sites. I can't afford the process to take more than a couple of hours, out of hours for clients.

My other concern is passwords, there was an issue in the past with MySQL -> MariaDB with password caching. Ended up needing entirely new passwords generating.

Rich I have not had any issues since updating using my method working 100%
Moved between servers in different countries (New Zealand and Australia) and back in under 45 minutes

@Adam One thing I did find is if moving accounts/emails to another server the SSL certificates do not transfer so you have to reissue them again with Let's Encrypt not sure if it is the same for custom ones.

You can migrate in this way but to go from 10.11 to 11.4 (tracking the LTS release) will be possible through Enhance soon. Unless it's urgent I would recommend waiting for the official feature.

There is a change freeze at the moment for version 12.0.0 after which we'll start releasing smaller features such as this in quick succession.
